1973 is a year to remember in our History as this training institution opened its doors to the masses of this country in order to train, develop and educate them.  Apartheid (Divisions of race groups by the apartheid system) was at its worst. The institution overcame its worst challenges faced by it  through the apartheid system and continued to educate, train and develop people of all race groups no matter what their race ,colour or creed or even their age did not matter ,every body who came to the table was allowed to learn .The institution was very famous and popular as MARITAAZ COLLEGE OF CAREERS   As the growth of this institution  went from strength to strength ,it  had to open new doors of opportunities by introducing  new brand names to its list of colleges and training centers especially to accommodate the youth and their needs in a modern society and modern technologically driven work place.The training programs offered fell under  different categories for different workplace needs. The institute was registered with the Department of Education under South African Government Act 65 of 1965(which act was later changed when South Africa got its democracy).  Our students graduated with international qualifications from Pitmans of London ,the City &Guilds of London, and The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Training Boards.

1991 saw new doors opening with new opportunities and challenges as DALBRIDGE COLLEGE .This institution got its name from the area it first opened its doors from ,DALBRIDGE . Dalbridge College a new brand name operated in the central city of Durban as a more youth orientated training  institution  registered with the Department of Education under the examination center number B 5421265.  DALBRIDGE COLLEGE  specializes in offering high school education up to Grade 12  by so doing , assisting the government with its backlog in training the masses (of all age groups). Dalbridge College also operated an international division which catered for modern students graduating for international qualifications from City & Guilds of London and Pitmans of London.

1993 saw Maritaaz College of Careers  transformed into a legally registered Technical College, the first private technical college in the history of South Africa.  The transformation led to its new name change and Maritaaz College of Careers was changed to First Choice Varsity College registered with the Department of Education under the examination center number 0599995542 .This transformation took place as the old Act   section 65 of 1965  under which Maritaaz College of Careers and all other Indian State Schools operated was scrapped.
  
Rita Seebran a pioneer and a true South African icon in education traveled the world and specially America, London, India, Hong Kong, Germany and Singapore inspiring youths, working with university presidents, academic deans, administrators and faculty to help enhance educational programs, improve administration, financial performance and institutional visibility, spreading her love to educate young and the old to a better life, a better society, a better nation, a better world.  This global transformation led to the introduction of foreign students interested in our training programs, hence our trading name  which all out training colleges and institutions fall under is GLOBAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING.

To establish and maintain excellent working relations with all stakeholders we interact with ,such as school Government Bodies - it’s management members, the Chairman , the Principals, the Parents, the Community, Community based organisations, the Government and  non Governmental organisations and all other stakeholders to make a community dream come true.  Founded in 1973 and dedicated to meeting the needs of part time, and fulltime students, we offer flexible online, distance and on-campus education and training.

MISSION    To provide convenient, high quality recognized accessible education and training which will develop and bring out the full potential of each student to a broader spectrum of the community. To keep our students engrossed in total improvement of their lives. To equip our students with marketable skills, which are of such a high  standard so as to be in demand in the work place, credible in the eyes of commerce, industry, trade, and the community. To obtain credits from higher educational authorities such as Technikons and Universities .To offer recognized courses within   The South African National Qualifications  Framework (NQF) and SAQA  South African  Qualifications Authority and this allows our students  be listed on the SAQA Data Bank for life .This helps our students continuation of their academic achievements at  higher institutions. To equip our students with marketable skills to allow them to enter the job  market with added confidence or start operating their own business practices, be it in commerce, science, science & technology, natural or social sciences. To offer career orientated education that will improve accessibility and opportunity for success. To offer strategically positioned quality vocational education and skills development. To incorporate in-service training Life skills orientation and religious education in our academic programs allowing our students to take into the industry and the community what they learn in our classrooms. To empower our students to uplift the various communities represented in our country simultaneously building relationships, developing whole persons and promoting service to God and humanity.
